Ingredients

  • 2 whole chicken breasts cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper powder
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Rice wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger (grated)
  • 2 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 pinch of white pepper
  • 1 pinch of paprika
  • Batter:
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1/2 cup tapioca starch
  • 1 pinch of white pepper

1. To the cubed chicken breasts, add the Chinese five spice powder, red pepper powder, rice wine, sugar, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, black pepper, white pepper, pinch of paprika and mix.

2. Cover and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes.

3. Add the tapioca starch and white pepper to the corn starch. Mix well.

4. Lightly coat the chicken in the dry mixture.

5. Heat oil to 375 degrees F and deep fry until golden brown.
