Very cute idea for Christmas – merging Eastern (Japanese sushi) and Western culture (Log Cake) for a unique dish that people from both cultures will be able to appreciate! You can go wild with the decoration of this sushi with vegetables, cut flowers and so on.

Ingredients

  • 400 gram Warm Rice
  • 2 tablespoon Mitsukan sushi vinegar
  • 40 gram Tsukudani
  • 1 sheet Nori
  • 50 gram Grilled Eel
  • 1 piece Thick omelet (1.5cm x 1.5cm x 20cm (length) <sushi roll>
  • 1 piece Cream cheese (1.5cm x 1.5cm x 20cm (length) <sushi roll>
  • 1 small Cucumber <sushi roll>
  • 14 teaspoon Paprika <sushi roll>
  • 2 leaf Lettuce <sushi roll>

1. Pour Mitsukan Sushi Vineger all over warn rice.

2. Mix finely chopped tsukudani by folding in with the rice (until rice turns an even brown colour).

3. Lay plastic wrap on sushi rolling mat and add Nori on rolling mat. Spread 250g of (2) (brown sushi rice) evenly.

4. Turn over (3) sushi rice with Nori, and spread the remaining sushi rice over the seaweed except for the area 2cm away from the end furthest from you.

5. Lay <sushi roll > ingredients (eel, omelet, cheese, cucumber, paprika, lettuce), and roll away from yourself.

6. Cut one end at an angle and put it (a stump) on the roll (log).
