Robofusion: Singapore's First and Only Robotic Ice Cream Machine

By weikang – Apr 23, 2013

On the 11th of April, a Robofusion Ice Cream kiosk was actively stationed at the Basement 2 of City Square Mall which is near Farrer Park MRT Station (NE8). The Robofusion Ice Cream costs $3 per cup and for payment purposes; it accepts debit cards, notes and coins; however, please be informed that the machine only accept $2 and $5 notes. Still, be reassured that your $3 will definitely be of worth for such experiences especially if you have any children.

As it is strategically located outside Toys"R"Us, it has been attracting children and even adults’ attentions. Although it is operating 24 hours per day, it will only be available when you have access to City Square Mall.

You will certainly be amazed by the first impression that Robofusion gives you. Firstly, in order to serve you, it does not require any manpower; moreover, it operates by providing music and robot dances even when you do not buy its ice cream. Above and beyond, its advanced technology and touch screen will decrease your resistant to not buy any ice cream from the Robofusion Ice Cream Kiosk as it will certainly increase your curiosity. As the saying goes, “Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back”.

Secondly, in contrast to the usual ice cream stores, the Robofusion Ice Cream kiosk allows you to design your very own unique 5-layer ice cream (2 layers of ice cream and 3 layers of toppings). At City Square Mall Kiosk, you will have 2 flavours (Chocolate and Vanilla) with three options. The 3 options of ice cream are chocolate, vanilla and twist (a mix of chocolate and vanilla). In addition, there are 6 different toppings that are available for you to choose. Next, you can choose 3 out of the 6 toppings options which consist of Frosted Flakes, Chopped Peanuts, M&M’s, Toasted Coconuts, Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds and Skittles.

However, the novelty does not end here. When designing the Ice Cream from the Robofusion, you can choose one of the four virtual characters available to attend to you. The 4 virtual characters names are Cid, Irvy, Reis and Rev which form up the Roboteam.

Although the purchasing process will take you less than 5 minutes, you are strongly advised to go to the Robofusion Ice Cream kiosk during the off peak periods. For instance, you should avoid going on the weekends as the queue would probably be extremely long.

After the purchasing process, please do remember to take your change on the right side of the machine and take the ice cream cup from the front of the machine. Finally, interestingly, to obtain a spoon for your cup of ice cream, you have to go to the left side of the machine and press a tab to push out a spoon.

Hence, truth to be told, besides the long queue time, you should not have any other reasons to refuse the enjoyable experience with Robofusion at all!

All in all, everyone, especially family with children, should experience a journey with Robofusion Ice Cream at least once in their lifetime as it provides a brand new memorable experience. Nevertheless, for the sake of those people who crave for ice cream past midnight, let us hope that Robofusion Singapore will allocate a new kiosk where we can have access to Robofusion Ice Cream for 24 hours per day.
